Orchestral Conducting

Headed by Alan Gilbert, a Juilliard alumnus and former music director of the New York Philharmonic, the graduate-level conducting program has trained many of today's most prominent orchestral and opera conductors.

As a conducting student, you will have regular opportunities to rehearse with the Conductors' Lab Orchestra, as well as access to New York Philharmonic rehearsals, concerts, and guest conductors. Public performances of the Lab Orchestra take place biannually in Alice Tully Hall as part of the Wednesdays at One series.
